S.E.R.S. - Roofing and Sheetmetal
S.E.R.S. is a roofing and sheetmetal company based on the North West Coast (Burnie) Tasmania. The company was established and has been operating since June 1988.
The roofing section known as S.E.R.S. Roofing services and offers metal roof and wall cladding – new and re-furbished, fascia, gutters and downpipes, purlin replacement, licensed asbestos removal (type B) (in accordance with Workplace Standards authority regulations) and all roof plumbing and allied work for domestic, commercial and industrial customers.
The workshop section known as S.E.R.S. Sheetmetal Works manufactures custom made flashing and folded sheetmetal sections to order or to meet specific customer needs. There is also a retail section that sells directly to the general public all roofing and roof plumbing products as well as others including fencing and accessories.
The Laser area of the Sheetmetal Works use a Farley CNC Slab Laser Profile Cutter with a 3000 x 1500 bed size and cutting capabilities of up to 12.0PL Stainless Steel, 12.0PL / 16.0PL Mild Steel. With trained operators and innovative programming the company is able to create impressive decorative pieces and precision cut machinery.
S.E.R.S. also use a Heavy Duty SR-3618 vr CNC Routing Machine. With Multicam drive system the rack and pinion drive system is the same as used on most European CNC and Robotics machines that require high accuracy positioning. It has spring loaded, zero backlash system that eliminates machine backlash, providing precise positioning and repeatability. This machine will cut and router all Aluminum, Rubber, Acrylics, Plastics, Timber, Copper and any other material up to thickness of 150mm
Plus S.E.R.S. use a Trumpf V1300 CNC 6 Axis Break Press with a 3 meter bending length, 144 Tonne bending gauge, this ensures precision and has helped to facilitate growth in the sheetmetal area of the business.
S.E.R.S. are able to inspect and reverse engineer parts with the Inspecvision P40.50. Inspecting to standard ISO10360-4 it is able to make millions of measurements in less then 1 second with accuracies from 0.025mm (25 micron) to 0.1mm (100 micron) as the Inspecvision has no moving parts it guarantees accuracy.
